Cyber Security: Trust through security for a digital world

In an ad special supplement to the May subscription issue of Manager Magazin or under the link http://manager-wissen.com/cyber-security, Dr. Frank Damm (as editor together with Hans-Peter Fischer – both KPMG) and other industry experts have published an interesting and easy-to-read collection of articles on the subject of cyber security. The introductory article by the two editors is very well done, highlighting the critical link between cyber security and trust. It is vividly illustrated (“forklift truck” example) that trust is indispensable for successful digital transformation and that this trust is inconceivable without cyber security. Of the other articles, the one by Jan Stölting (also KPMG) and Dr. Moritz Minzlaff (ESCRYPT) should be mentioned, which deals with the complex of topics of cyber security and safe vehicles. It is made clear that, due to regulatory UN requirements, the automotive industry needs to build Cyber Security Management Systems (CSMS) that must take into account the lifecycle of the automotive vehicle as well as the entire development and supply chain to ensure proper and risk-oriented threat mitigation. Staying on the hacker’s trail is Dr. Karl-Friedrich Thier (T-Systems), who gives a very easy-to-understand overview of the field of cyber defense (“the last line of defense against hackers”). On the one hand, it presents the cyber kill chain as an attack model, but on the other hand, it also presents the 3 stages of defense. You can tell that he comes from a practical background and that T-Systems sees the topic as a core competence. With this supplement, all the experts and Manager Magazin succeed in making an extremely topical and critical subject accessible to decision-makers and other interested parties from various perspectives and fields of application.

“The Best of Both” – Jens Bohlen featured in “Interview der Woche”-Podcast by Project-Guru Mario Neumann

Podcast #119 vom 16.03.2022 –
The Best of Both
Mario Neumann: “Jens Bohlen is a self-confessed fan of agile methods. He appreciates it when highly motivated experts develop IT solutions in iterative sprints. At the same time, he is also their biggest critic because, in his opinion, these people are often sloppy with quality, time and costs. I spoke with Jens Bohlen in the “Interview of the Week” about how to reconcile clear business goals and fixed deadlines with agile ways of working.”
